When To Book

your newborn photography session

3 February 2017

I’m often contacted by new mums after their beautiful baby arrives wishing to book in for a newborn session. Quite often I am unable to fit them in, which just breaks my heart!

Did you know, the best time to book your newborn session is whilst you are pregnant?

The reason for this is newborn babies are best photographed within their first two weeks as this is when they sleep the most and we can achieve the cute little scrunched up images you see.

Sessions tend to take place when baby is 6 – 10 days old.

If you are wanting to capture your baby while they are small and squishy, you may have thought about booking a newborn shoot, but decided since it’s something that happens one baby arrives you’ll do it then.

Chances are once your baby arrives, you’ll be too overwhelmed or too tired (or both!) to even brush your hair, never mind considering looking for a photographer. Before you know it days have passed and then you suddenly think about booking, only to find out the photographer you really love is completely booked up.

Once you have done a little research to choose your photographer you should get in touch to ensure the availability.

I only take limited newborn sessions on each month to ensure I have total flexibility once baby arrives. It’s very rare for a baby to arrive on their due date, so that is only used as a guide upon booking.

Once baby arrives, it’s as simple as giving me a call or dropping me and email to book the session.

If you are due to give birth this year, please do get in touch.
